Our Legacy

Established in 1978, DYCCI has proudly built a 47-year legacy as the leading voice for local businesses in the region.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we reinvest all our profits into delivering valuable business services, events, and training opportunities. Our mission is simple: to ensure that knowledge and skills are accessible to everyone, fostering growth and success across the community.

Our Committee is composed of experts with diverse experience spanning multiple industries, ensuring we truly understand the challenges and opportunities faced by local businesses.

DYCCI plays a vital role in the region, serving as a key stakeholder and advocating for local interests. With representation on numerous reference groups and regular collaboration with industry bodies and government, we work tirelessly to ensure that the voice of our business community is heard and prioritised.

How We Operate

We’re a small but vibrant, not-for-profit organisation led by a dedicated volunteer Committee of local business owners. Our approach is contemporary, flexible and inclusive; we encourage adaptability including new ways of working and communicating, and we try to keep it real.

We’re leaders in small and microbusiness and we direct our activities where it’s needed most; empowering local businesses to be their own success story. We focus on what’s essential, so we can do more for the community and we put all our profits back into services, networking events and training, because we believe knowledge and skills should be shared.

We’re dedicated to being a source of truth for the community and are represented on many Reference Groups and Committees. Our purpose is to represent and advocate for the interests of the Dunsborough Yallingup business community and create opportunities for economic development and diversity.

Role of the Committee

The Committee governs the Chamber, sets strategic direction, and oversees planning, management, and performance. Members work to make Dunsborough & Yallingup a great place to live, work, and visit by connecting with businesses and engaging with government stakeholders.

If you’re well-networked and can support our objectives, contact our CEO to express your interest in joining. We welcome candidates from Hospitality, Tourism, Retail, Arts, and more, with skills in leadership, HR, marketing, and communications.

Our diverse committee encourages participation from First Nations people, people with disabilities, culturally diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ people, and youth. No prior Board experience is needed, but you must be a financial member to apply.
