Tender and Procurement Update: Opportunities for Local Industry

The South West Development Commission (SWDC) has released its latest tender and procurement update, providing a snapshot of current opportunities for local businesses to engage with government and industry projects across Western Australia.

This update includes a comprehensive summary of State Government, Local Government, and early tender notices recently added to procurement platforms. New tenders highlighted in the latest release reflect ongoing activity across key infrastructure, education, transport, and environmental projects throughout the state.

Businesses are encouraged to explore the opportunities listed on the Tenders WA website and other official procurement portals such as VendorPanel and TenderLink, where full tender documents and submission details are available.

A detailed spreadsheet of the latest tenders can be accessed via the SWDC website under the Local Content Adviser Program – Information & Documents section:

Spotlight: Transmission Manufacturing in Western Australia

The WA Government has also issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking industry input on the capability and capacity of local suppliers to manufacture energy transmission componentry within Western Australia.

This RFI supports the implementation of the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) Transmission Plan, which provides a strategic blueprint for new and upgraded transmission infrastructure to drive the state’s renewable energy transition.

Led by the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification (DEED), this initiative forms part of the Transmission Manufacturing in WA program and aligns with the Made in WA Plan. Its aim is to boost local procurement outcomes and identify pathways for WA industry to participate in clean energy manufacturing and infrastructure delivery.

Feedback gathered through the RFI will help shape future support programs, policy frameworks, and the development of the AMTECH anchor tenant project — a cornerstone of Western Australia’s push to localise energy technology manufacturing.

The RFI closes on 31 October 2025.
